Outdoor photo at a rough construction site with red-brown earth, scrubby green bushes and a bamboo scaffold frame behind. A man in a saffron-orange dhoti wrap with bare upper back stands at left, facing the group. Four men in white shirts and white dhotis stand near: one in the centre with a hand on his chest and a dark leather bag, one at right in a white shirt, and one at far right holding a white box. In the foreground a man in a white shirt and white dhoti bends forward with his head lowered and hands together over a tall vertical wooden stake in the ground, apparently doing a ritual at the site. Overcast sky.

A young man with long dark hair and bare chest, wearing an orange saffron dhoti and shawl, grips a tall wooden pestle and presses it into a stone mortar on the sandy ground. Around him, several onlookers stand: a man in a white kurta and dark-rimmed glasses with a black rudraksha-style necklace holds a metal plate, a bald man in a grey t-shirt and trousers watches, a woman with short red hair wears a white wrap, and another man in white stands in the background. An older bare-chested man with white moustache wears a white dhoti at right. Scattered white cloth scraps, leaves and a small bowl lie on the ground near shrubs and trees, with a few stones and a red plastic chair behind.2004-12-31Outdoor photo at dusk of a group standing on open grassland with palm trees and a rocky hill behind them under a cloudy sky.
