Outdoor Pongal celebration in a courtyard with banana plants tied with balloons in red, blue, yellow, purple and orange. A seated man in a white shirt tends a clay-pot cooking fire on a red-and-white bordered platform, with a large clay pot and steel vessels beside it. Other men in white shirts and a woman in a white sari with a striped border stand nearby. Rows of dark clay pots and a seated figure in orange and yellow garlands are visible on the steps behind. A small sign is propped against the platform. Trees and a hillside form the backdrop at dusk.
