October 13 20072007-10-13Indoor ritual aarti in a plain white-walled hall with corrugated metal roof, smoke haze in the air. Three standing men in white kurta-style clothes with orange saffron shawls raise brass aarti lamps with flames overhead. Two decorative painted pillars in red, blue and yellow patterns flank the space. Several seated devotees in white and orange sit on the floor, some with brass vessels; a bearded man in orange stands at the back near a speaker and sound equipment. The scene looks like a puja or aarti offering.2007-10-15October 15 20072007-10-15October 15 20072007-10-15October 13 20072007-10-13October 15 20072007-10-15October 15 20072007-10-15October 13 20072007-10-13A photograph of a hall with a corrugated metal roof and bare plaster walls, hazy with smoke. Three standing men in white dhotis and white shirts, with orange scarves over their shoulders and orange-tinted headwear, hold brass lamps with flames, their gaze lifted upward. Behind them a row of seated devotees in white clothing fills the floor, and several brass vessels sit on a mat in front. Two hanging woven banners with bird motifs flank the room. This appears to be an aarti or lamp-waving ritual; the figures are not identifiable as a person from the image.2007-10-15October 16 20072007-10-16October 13 20072007-10-13A photograph inside a plain whitewashed hall with a corrugated metal roof, showing a fire ritual. Three standing men in white dhotis and white shirts with orange shawls hold up flaming lamps, one on the left swinging a burning torch, the middle two lamps raised. Behind them a row of seated devotees in white clothing sits on mats with brass lamps and vessels on the floor. Tall decorated pillars with coloured patterns and an orange cloth hang at the back, and a seated man in an orange shawl sits in a white chair on the right. The scene suggests an aarti with oil lamps.2007-10-15
