A night photograph of an empty downtown street in Kinston, North Carolina, shot from the centre of an intersection. Two- and three-story brick and stone commercial buildings line both sides, with the left corner building washed in purple light and the right building topped by a lit dome. Young trees stand in planters along the sidewalks, and parked cars sit at the curb. Strings of traffic signals hang across the road under a dark sky, and a zebra crosswalk runs across the foreground. No people are visible.

A four-panel collage of photographs showing a person-related sister city settings: a large multi-storey tan government-style building at top left, an aerial view of a town with a rocky hill at top right, a wide roadside scene with a hill and traffic in the middle left, and a road with a cyclist passing a rocky mountain at bottom right. No a person candidate is visible in these scenes, and no people are clearly visible apart from small distant figures and a cyclist on the road.

A four-panel collage. The large right panel shows an aerial view of a dense city with low-rise buildings, several taller towers, green trees and a blue sky with clouds. The top-left panel is a circular-free emblem: a blue and white shield showing a mountain, a rhinoceros and crossed spears. The middle-left panel is a head-and-shoulders portrait of a man in a dark grey suit, white shirt and patterned grey tie against a white background. The bottom-left panel shows a street scene with tall palm trees, a multi-storey building and parked cars and motorcycles.

Aerial view of a city. A wide road runs diagonally through the town, lined with trees. Lush green trees and a body of water appear in the lower left corner, and hazy hills rise in the distance under a pale sky. No people are visible and no ritual, event or a person presence is shown.
