A man in a saffron-orange robe with long swept-back hair stands at right holding a small bell in one hand, his other hand on his chest; his appearance shows several cues but this is an appearance-based candidate and the page does not confirm his presence, so he is treated as uncertain. Two women in white and a man in white with rudraksha-style beads stand near a tray of offerings. A man in white with folded hands stands at far right on a red mat. Behind the shrine, a dark deity murti wrapped in orange cloth and white flower garlands is set in an arched wooden frame, with petals scattered over the stone base. Two onlookers stand at left, one in a dark sari and one in a light blue top.2003-07-13July 13 20032003-07-13July 13 20032003-07-13July 13 20032003-07-132004 - sacred collections uncategorisedJuly 13 20032003-07-13Outdoor photo at a shaded grove near a large banyan tree, showing a rock-piled mound shrine with a Shiva lingam-like stone at the top. A figure in orange robes and an orange head wrap bends forward at the mound, offering or placing items on a tray; another figure in orange sits or stands beside the lingam, holding flowers. Around them, four or five men in white dhotis and kurtas stand and watch, with one bearded man bending forward near the base. A garland of marigold-yellow flowers and green leaves hangs on the mound's edge, with pink blossoms and an orange cloth on the ground. Bright sunlight and dry earth surround the scene.2003-07-13A photograph of an outdoor consecration beneath a large banyan-type tree. A young man in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, with an orange turban, vibhuti mark on his forehead and a rudraksha mala, stands barefoot on a stone platform with his palms joined in a gesture of blessing toward a dark stone deity murti of a seated figure under a cobra hood. Behind him, a bearded man in white robes stands with hands folded, and an older man with glasses in white clothes stands near the deity. On the right, a man in a striped shirt stands with arms crossed and a seated woman watches. The deity sits on a granite base stained with red kumkum. Stones line the foreground.2003-04-02Outdoor ritual photo beneath a large banyan tree. On the right, a black deity statue seated on a pedestal wears orange cloth and a garland of marigolds and flowers. Nearby stands a dark statue. The scene suggests a temple devotional visit to a sacred tree shrine.2010-10-28
