Dense green palm fronds with pinnate leaflets dominate the frame, with broad banana leaves behind them and a tall palm trunk at the left edge. Sunlight highlights the fronds and casts shadows across the leaves. No people or ritual activity is visible.2006-11-10November 09 20062006-11-09November 29 20122012-11-29August 18 20162016-08-18A photograph of a small palm sapling growing in a square concrete-edged planting bed filled with reddish-brown soil. Long green pinnate fronds droop over the bed, and a thin black irrigation hose runs across the soil toward the base of the palm. Paved grey tiles surround the bed, with a leaf-bearing plant visible at the left edge and a white pipe at the upper right. No people are present.2010-09-26A close view of green bamboo foliage in the foreground, with long narrow leaves and slender brownish-green canes angled diagonally across the right side. Behind the bamboo a pale grey building wall with a window framed by yellow curtains sits among dense shrubs and leafy trees. A bare brown tree trunk rises in the background, and the ground below is covered with low green plants and bare earth. No people are visible.2010-07-04A single pink rose blooms among green leaves on a climbing shrub against a terracotta-orange wall. Thin bare branches stand at left, and feathery fern-like foliage spreads at right. No people or ritual activity are visible; the image is a garden plant photograph.2010-10-05February 04 20102010-02-04A photograph of a person standing outdoors beside a red brick wall with a latticed window, palm trees and green grass behind. The person has long dark hair swept back, wears an orange saffron wrap or shawl with a red stripe, and a thin necklace. Their hands are pressed together in anjali mudra at chest level, head bowed in prayer or greeting. Appearance-based candidate: a person, shown in an outdoor devotional moment; the long swept hair, saffron wrap and necklace are the qualifying cues. A white plastic container sits on the grass at the right edge.2006-07-21
