April 04 20182018-04-04A priest in an orange turban and orange cloth, with rudraksha malas on his arm and chest, performs aarti with a silver lamp flaming toward a seated figure. The seated figure, in an orange-red garment with gold necklaces and a white tilak on the forehead, sits in front of an ornate silver-framed seat and holds his hands in namaskar. The priest's bare upper body bears white markings. Smoke and flame rise between them in a dark wooden setting. The figure's appearance matches the page's a person reference only partly, with a turban-less head, so the identity is uncertain; the seated figure is described by role as a devotee receiving aarti.2018-04-26Photograph of a ceremonial aarti being performed before a seated man. The seated man sits in an ornate silver chair with red cushioning, palms pressed together in namaskar, wearing a saffron-orange robe, a heavy gold necklace with a pendant, a red wrist thread, and a vibhuti mark on his forehead. Facing him from behind is a priest in an orange-red turban and saffron cloth, with a rudraksha mala and white markings on his arms, holding a silver lamp with a large flame. Carved dark wooden screens form the background.2018-04-26 +1 copiesJune 04 20182018-06-04 +1 copiesClose photo of a ritual in progress: a priest in red and orange clothing with an orange-beaded mala across his chest and white markings on his arms holds a brass bell and a flaming camphor or oil lamp, its fire rising above a small brass vessel. Their hand rests on a silver-toned armrest of a red-cushioned chair with ornate silver fittings, beside an open fire burning in a dark stone fire pit. Silver ritual vessels with floral engraving sit at the right, and yellow flower garlands appear at the top. The scene suggests a homa or fire ritual. The person's face and full body are not visible, so this is an unsure appearance-based candidate with no clear identifying cues beyond rudraksha and robes.2018-03-03March 03 20182018-03-03A photograph of a man performing an aarti ritual with a lit oil lamp held in one hand and a silver bell in the other.
