A red carpet runs down the centre. In the middle, a young man in a saffron-orange robe stands wearing a long white-and-orange flower garland, with a dark shawl or wrap over his shoulders and a black-beaded mala; his hair is short and he is not wearing a crown or turban. Flanking him, several men in white dhotis and white shirts, some with rudraksha-style malas, stand in two lines and gesture or stand at attention. Behind them, a large crowd of seated and standing devotees, many women in saris and older people with hands folded, watches on both sides, with children at the right edge. The setting suggests a ceremonial welcome or procession at a rural temple area with a small blue-walled building behind.2009-11-25July 01 20142014-07-01A photograph of a welcome at an outdoor pavilion roofed with woven palm thatch and decorated with hanging green banana bunches. A young man in a saffron-orange robe with a long pink-and-yellow flower garland stands at centre, smiling, with long dark hair, appearing to be a sannyasi receiving the greeting. A man in a white shirt and black belt bows toward him from the left, and a man in white dhoti and shawl with a green-bordered cloth extends an open hand on the right. Several people in white clothes, including a woman holding a brass pot with leaves, stand around with palms pressed together in namaste. Women in white and a woman in a white sari with a gold border also join in the greeting. The atmosphere is one of devotional welcome at a house visit.2010-02-17March 23 20082008-03-23Photograph of a procession through a covered walkway in a village setting, with a red carpet underfoot. At the centre, a man in a saffron-orange turban and saffron-orange robe with a rudraksha mala and a white and red flower garland stands smiling, hands at his sides. The page places a person at this event, but the figure's appearance is only partially distinctive, so identity is uncertain. Beside him, a bearded man in an orange dhoti and shawl stands next to an older man in white. Devotees in white dhotis and shirts line the path, some with folded hands, and a woman in a white sari with orange border stands at left. Men in red kurtas carry items at right, and a green-framed doorway and blue wall with floral garlands appear at left.2008-07-28 +1 copiesOutdoor photo at a temple or ashram entrance under a thatched palm-leaf roof.
