May 23 20062006-05-23Night photograph of a joyful group of about a dozen men in orange and saffron robes and kurtas, arms raised high, smiling and cheering together against a dark background. Several have shaved heads and beads; one man in the centre wears a black top with long dark hair, and one figure at right has long swept hair and rings. Their open-armed celebratory gesture suggests a festive moment at a Janmashtami gathering.2016-08-25August 25 20162016-08-25August 25 20162016-08-25May 22 20062006-05-22Night photograph of a joyful crowd of devotees in orange and red robes, arms raised high with fists clenched and thumbs up, cheering outdoors against a dark background. A woman at right in orange robes and a beaded mala smiles broadly. Some participants wear bracelets and rings, and a hand at left holds a white conch shell. The mood is festive and celebratory.2016-08-25August 25 20162016-08-25October 10 20162016-10-10A night photograph of a crowd of men in orange and saffron robes raising their fists and arms high, many shouting or smiling with joy. Many wear orange or saffron shawls over white, cream, green and light blue kurta-style clothing; one woman in a black top and light blue patterned dress has braided hair. Overhead lights and ceiling fans are visible, and a lamp glows at left. The crowd fills the frame, with many more people at the back, partly obscured. No clearly identifiable a person figure is visible among the raised arms, so no identity claim is made.2006-06-03December 21 20152015-12-21
