In the foreground a brass puja table holds oil lamps, a kalasha-style vessel, banana bunches, fruit and rose petals scattered on the floor. On the right, a man in a rust-orange turban, orange robes, white flower garland and rudraksha mala sits smiling beside a purple-covered table. A small child in the left foreground and an adult's arm are partly visible. The man's appearance is consistent with the page's reference to a person, but the cues are limited, so identity is uncertain.2017-04-02April 02 20172017-04-02A photograph of a home shrine room set up for puja. A carved gold arch frames an orange and blue backdrop holding three deity murtis draped with white and orange garlands, with rose petals and marigold garlands spread on a red cloth. Brass oil lamps, a kalasha-style vessel, plates of fruit, bananas, coconuts and a brass thali surround the altar on a wooden floor. On the right, a seated man in orange robes, an orange turban with a tilak on his forehead, and a long white and yellow flower garland, sits on a purple-draped seat and smiles toward the camera. A child in a blue and white outfit stands at the left edge. Appearance suggests a person, seated in orange robes and a turban with rudraksha-style beads, with the page noting his presence at the event, but the face and presentation are not distinct enough to confirm.2017-04-02April 02 20172017-04-02April 02 20172017-04-02A photo of a home shrine room with a gold arched canopy framing a deity murti pair on a red-draped altar, decorated with white jasmine garlands and pink flowers. A man in a rust-red dhoti-style garment and a red-flowered garland stands at left, lighting an oil lamp with a flame held in his right hand, a rudraksha-style pale bracelet visible at his wrist. Rose petals are scattered on the wooden floor, and brass plates hold fruit, flowers and offerings on a stone platform. A framed portrait at right shows a smiling man in saffron with a garland, labelled as a portrait of the teacher, and a purple cloth table holds more garlands and petals. Standing man is visible; the portrait is not a physical person.2017-04-02April 02 20172017-04-02A person in a rust-red shawl and dhoti, with a white and red flower garland around the neck and red flowers in the hair, stands at left scattering petals or flower offerings toward a shrine. The shrine has an ornate gold arch framing an orange-and-blue drape, with three deity murtis adorned with white and red garlands on a red-draped platform. Brass oil lamps burn in front, with plates of fruit, sweets, kumkum, and rose petals on the floor. At right, a large framed portrait of a smiling man in an orange turban and saffron robes is garlanded with white jasmine. Other people in saris stand in the doorway at left. The setting is a puja or aarti at a home shrine. The portrait is a printed depiction, not a physical person.2017-04-02April 02 20172017-04-02April 02 20172017-04-02A shrine room with a gilded arched frame behind a deep red altar cloth and orange drapes. Three deity murti stand at the centre, one with a tall crown and garlands, and two smaller figures with garlands, set on a rose-petal covered platform. Brass oil lamps with lit flames, bowls of flowers, fruit, and a small plate of green leaves sit on the floor in front. In the foreground a person in a maroon-red robe and white garland extends a bundle of green leaves toward the shrine, while a second person in a white blouse and red-bordered sari holds a bowl of offerings. A large portrait print of a smiling man in a red turban and saffron clothing hangs at the right edge beside a white flower garland. A camera operator in the left foreground is partly visible. This appears to be a puja being performed at a home-style altar.2017-04-02
