June 05 20122012-06-05A fire ritual at night: a tall flame rises from a wood fire pit (homa) on a wooden platform with a yellow edge and dry straw at its base. A young man in a white dhoti-style cloth and a beige turban holds a stick toward the fire, wearing a long rudraksha mala and bangles. Beside him, a second person in an orange-saffron garment with a rudraksha mala looks toward the flames, and another figure stands behind the fire in the smoke. The background is dark and smoky.2013-10-15July 28 20172017-07-28September 05 20152015-09-05February 15 20172017-02-15June 05 20122012-06-05August 14 20162016-08-14August 14 20162016-08-14November 26 20172017-11-26August 14 20162016-08-14September 24 20172017-09-24 +2 copiesA photograph of a homa fire ritual in a temple doorway. In the foreground a fire burns in a fire pit with flower-decorated offerings and a brass vessel beside it. A person in a cream and gold-bordered sari with a rudraksha mala and tilak stands with hands folded over the fire, while a man in white dhoti with a shawl stands behind and a dark statue of a deity with matted hair and a crown stands at right. A seated priest in white is at lower right. Sunlight glows through the open doorway behind them.2017-07-28
