July 30 20122012-07-30A close photo of a ritual abhishekam on a golden Sri Yantra (shri chakra) meru. A pair of hands, one wearing gold rings and a stack of glass bangles, pours a golden liquid from a brass vessel onto the tiered yantra, which sits on a brass tray. The liquid streams down the layered triangles and lotus-petal base. Behind, a person in an orange saffron garment is seated, with a light beige cloth in the lower right. No faces are visible.July 30 20122012-07-30A close photograph of an abhishekam in progress. A person in orange saffron robes with a rudraksha mala and ceremonial bead necklace pours thick yellow liquid from a large brass vessel over a tiered golden lingam-shaped object with a yellow sprinkling splashing down its sides. Behind it stands a gold-ornamented niche with a red panel to the right, and a small silver ritual implement sits on a wooden stand at lower left. Only the pourer's arm and torso are visible, so no face is shown.2009-10-17May 21 20062006-05-21May 21 20062006-05-21July 30 20122012-07-30A photograph of a man in an orange saffron shawl and wrap seated before a golden shivalingam-style sacred object on a wooden stand, pouring water from a brass pot over its tiered top as an abhishekam. He wears long rudraksha and gold bead malas, a red bindi and white vibhuti marks. Behind him are red and gold silk drapes, white and yellow flower garlands, and brass lamps. On the tray in front are brass cups, a bell, a small kalasha and a pink flower. Appearance cues are distinctive: long dark hair, saffron wrap and ornate malas, consistent with the page's reference to Swamiji, so the figure is a probable candidate.2009-10-17A close photograph of a ritual abhishekam at a gold-toned shrine. A hand tilts a silver bowl, pouring liquid over a tiered golden sri yantra meru base beside a gilded deity murti. Behind, a man in white dhoti with an orange shawl and a red tilak sits attentively, and a person in orange clothing has hands joined in prayer. A carved wooden platform with floral patterns holds the setup, and a microphone is visible at top right. No one in the image is identifiable as a person from appearance here, so the candidate is not clearly present.2008-07-03May 20 20132013-05-20May 21 20062006-05-21A close action photo of an abhishekam: a figure in orange robes with a gold-brown necklace of beads pours golden liquid from a brass vessel over a dark stone linga. Thick yellow-gold liquid cascades down the stone, blurred by motion. A blurred orange-robed figure stands behind, and a polished brass lamp stand with a lit flame appears at right against a black background.2010-02-12
