On the right, a line of devotees in white dhotis and white kurtas stands beside saffron-robed sadhus holding brass plates and offerings; a man in white at the front holds a plate, and a drummer in white with an orange cloth beats a large drum. On the left, saffron-robed monks and white-clad devotees stand along the pavement near shops and a cycle rickshaw. A uniformed police officer in khaki stands in the road, and a small blue car is parked along the carriageway. Green trees line the street.2011-01-16July 20-26 2004October 10 20172017-10-10August 01 20082008-08-01Outdoor procession on a dirt path in front of a pink temple-style canopy strung with orange marigold garlands. In the foreground a man in a brown shirt and white dhoti plays a long wind instrument (nadaswaram-type) with a bell-shaped end. Behind him, several men in white dhotis and shawls walk, and a bare-chested man in white with yellow sash follows. At centre, a figure in an orange robe, orange head-wrap and rudraksha mala walks beside a second figure in orange robe holding a white flower garland. Devotees in saris and white clothes line the path, and a cameraman in a brown shirt films. A tent and palm trees stand in the background.2010-01-13A photograph of a roadside procession on a dirt shoulder beside a paved road. Several dozen people walk in two loose lines: men in white dhotis and shirts carry brass items and trays, and a drummer with a barrel drum wears white. A man in a teal shirt plays a long wind instrument, and a group in orange and saffron clothing walks near a woman in a red sari. On the right, two elderly men in saffron robes, one with an orange turban, stand watching. Behind them, a thatched structure, a blue tarp and a large roadside banner with a portrait and Tamil text stand among trees, and a few small cars sit on the road at left.2011-01-16October 10 20172017-10-10May 17 20132013-05-17
