Night photograph of a temple tank at Karthikai Deepam with rows of small oil lamps lining its steps and banks. Red and yellow lamps trace a glowing outline of a lamp or trident pattern on the stepped tiers at right, and strings of lights run along a fence above. Their reflections shimmer in the still dark water. A grey stone pillar with a wide bowl-shaped top and a white-and-red striped base stands at the right edge. No people are visible.
