Inside stand deity murtis draped in flower garlands, with brass lamps and a kalasha in front. A figure in a saffron-orange robe with long, loose hair stands at the left side of the shrine, leaning toward the deities and touching a brass object, a probable puja action. Two people in white clothes stand at the right edge, and a camera operator is visible at the far right. Tall trees stand behind the shrine.2007-01-01A devotee in a yellow sari with a long dark braid bends forward to offer a long garland of marigolds and red and purple flowers at the feet of a large golden deity murti seated on a crimson draped base. The murti wears yellow and gold garments, ornate jewellery and a rudraksha-style bead necklace, and one raised hand holds a trident-like staff. The offerer's neck carries a gold necklace. A white cloth-covered ledge with scattered petals lies in front, under an open-sided hall with a corrugated roof. Another person in yellow sits partly visible beside the garlands. The scene suggests a puja or garlanding offering.2010-12-23Outdoor festival procession in which a man in flowing saffron-orange robes with a maroon border leans over a decorated palanquin to garland a silver-and-gold utsava murti of a deity seated in a green and red sari. A red umbrella with tasselled edging shelters the figure, and flower garlands of marigold and white blossoms drape the murti and the vehicle. Women in red saris and devotees stand nearby, with brass kalasha vessels and fruit and flower offerings in the foreground and tall trees and a pale sky behind. The man's face is not visible and no appearance-based candidate is confirmed, so a person is unsure; the robed figure is an unidentified devotee performing a garlanding or pooja.2009-12-23Two deity murti figures seated side by side on a raised golden pedestal, decorated for a festival. Both are dressed in red and gold textiles with orange and saffron drapes, heavy jewelled necklaces, and crowns or headdresses with floral decoration. Thick garlands of white jasmine, yellow marigold and deep red flowers hang across both figures and their base. Behind them stands a tall saffron flag on a pole, a white wall with orange and red pillars, potted palms and flowering plants, and scattered confetti. The scene reads as a ritual decoration of murti at an outdoor festival setting, with no visible living people.2008-12-28December 23 20082008-12-23A large deity murti or statue seated on a white-draped platform, adorned with heavy garlands of yellow marigolds, purple and maroon flowers, white blossoms and green leaves. The figure wears an orange cloth wrap, a gold-toned ornate belt and collar, and tall decorated gold earrings with green stones. A golden umbrella-like canopy or parasol with a curved handle rises behind, and a purple drape and orange fabric hang in the background. Potted plants and a red railing sit at the left edge. No physical people are visible; this is a statue, not a living person.2010-12-27December 31 20102010-12-31A decorated temple shrine outdoors under trees, framed by red velvet curtains and strings of marigold and white jasmine garlands in red, yellow and purple. Above the shrine, a flower-covered arch bears the painted word a person. Inside, a deity murti adorned with garlands and a flower-decked figure stands on a garlanded pedestal. A man in an orange cloth kneels at the left of the shrine beside brass lamps and ritual vessels. On the right, a few people in white clothes stand near a multicoloured umbrella. The scene suggests a festive puja or abhishekam.2007-01-01Outdoor photograph of a decorated processional ratha shrine, bright sunlight streaming in. A tall figure in a red-orange robe and red turban stands at the left beside a carved stone guardian figure. In the centre, a standing man in white dhoti with a yellow shawl and a second man in orange dhoti and orange shawl stand before a deity murti dressed in red and orange cloth, with garlands of yellow and purple flowers. The orange-clad man raises an arm to the shrine's top edge. Brass puja vessels, a lamp and a flower-laden tray sit on the platform. Yellow, purple and white marigold garlands cover the shrine's frame, and red cloth hangs behind. A red banner with Tamil lettering is visible at the top.2009-01-12An outdoor photograph of a ceremonial palanquin or throne-like seat draped in a large yellow cloth with red-and-gold border, its back and top decorated with garlands of white and yellow marigold flowers and dark green leaves. Two dark finials rise above the garland. Beneath it lies a red cloth, and a red carpet covers the ground of a courtyard. A small black deity murti wrapped in an orange-and-white garland sits on a white pedestal at left, and a person in orange and white kneels in front of a white shrine structure. Smoke or incense drifts at right, and orange flags stand nearby. No people are clearly standing on the seat.2008-12-28
