December 23 20072007-12-23A man in a saffron-orange robe stands beside a large copper kalasha-shaped vessel on a pale stone base, decorated with yellow marigold garlands and red and white flowers. He holds a small bell in one hand and a lit flame or torch in the other, raised near the top of the structure. A tall coconut palm and leafy trees frame the scene, with a few onlookers visible at the lower right edge. The page indicates a flag-hoisting dwajarohanam event; a candidate with a long swept-back hair, saffron robe and a yellow-beaded mala matches the qualifying cues, so he is labelled Swamiji (probable) while performing the flame ritual at the copper kalasha.2006-12-23A man in saffron-orange robes, with a draped orange shawl over his head and shoulders, stands barefoot on a white platform beside a tall copper dhwajastambha-style pillar.
