A photograph of the entrance to the Yamunotri temple area in the Himalayan hills, with a white metal gateway bearing a Hindi banner reading 'Yamunotri Mandir Samiti welcomes you warmly'. Pack mules with blue saddle cloths stand behind a stone retaining wall on the left. Several pilgrims gather near the gate: a woman in a pink and blue sari and a woman in an orange sari, men in jackets and trousers, one man in a teal jacket seated on a rail. Dense green forest and steep rock rise behind the stone path.
