A procession descends a wide red-painted stone staircase under an overcast sky during Dasara celebrations at Sripuram Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam in Hyderabad. A central figure in saffron-orange robes wears a long red and orange marigold garland and walks barefoot with a flower garland draped at the waist. Two attendants hold large ornate umbrellas, one red and one multicoloured, over the procession. Around them, men in white dhotis and white shirts with yellow or saffron shawls, some wearing rudraksha malas, walk along, and one carries a small brass or gold vessel. A woman in pink stands at the right edge. Several participants have colour powder marks on their faces and clothes. Many more people line the steps behind the procession.
