Photograph of a dhwaja stambha preparation ritual at a white stone temple pavilion. A long-haired person in saffron-orange robes and a gold necklace raises an orange flag with a red cloth attached to a pole hung with white-wrapped items. A second person in orange robes stands at left beside a white pedestal holding a plate of yellow and pink flowers. Another orange-robed figure stands behind, and a man in white kurta stands at right. Green mango leaves hang from strings overhead, and a white carved elephant sculpture stands on a pillar.

September 29 20062006-09-29A photograph of a temple ritual at an outdoor pavilion with white pillars and carved white ornamentation. A man with long dark hair, a tilak on his forehead, a gold-beaded garland, a gold bangle and an orange cloth wrapped around his bare upper body is holding a bundle of dried grass and reaching toward a rope or pole. Beside him, a younger man in an orange robe holds a brass plate of yellow and pink flower garlands. A woman in a white sari with a white shawl stands nearby, and an older man in white clothing watches, with several other people in orange and white behind them. Leaves are strung across the top of the pavilion. The man with long hair shows distinctive long hair, adornments and an orange garment, but the appearance is not clear enough to confirm identity, so this is a priest in ritual dress.2006-09-29A photograph of a temple ritual in a covered pillared hall with white ornate walls. A man with long, swept-back dark hair and a gold necklace, wearing saffron-orange robes, raises a bundled dhwaja (flag) with a red and orange cloth wrapped around a white rope at the top of a bamboo-like pole. Beside him, a younger man in orange robes holds a brass tray of yellow and orange flowers. Other people sit on the floor at left and right, one shirtless, and a deity murti stands in the background. The figure with long hair matches the page's a person cue only loosely, so the identity is uncertain.2006-09-29September 29 20062006-09-29September 29 20062006-09-29September 29 20062006-09-29September 29 20062006-09-29September 29 20062006-09-29September 14 20092009-09-14September 14 20092009-09-14September 29 20062006-09-29Outdoor photograph on a white temple rooftop terrace beside a copper-coloured dhvaja stambha, a tall ceremonial flagpole wrapped in yellow marigold garlands and topped with dried straw. A red cloth and green leaves hang from it. A second man in white ritual clothes stands behind him. Behind them, a white gopuram-style temple tower rises under a pale sky, and a row of spectators watches from the parapet, including children and women in saris.
