A decorated palanquin with a canopy of red and multicoloured fringe, its frame wrapped in flower garlands and gold ornaments, is carried forward by men in white dhotis and white shirts with saffron-red sashes. Beside it, a seated figure in red and gold robes receives honour. Dense crowds in the foreground include a man in a white head cloth, a man with a green backpack, a person in teal, and a figure in orange-saffron robes. Red flags flutter on tall poles, and a street lamp lights the scene against the dark sky.

Two men in white dhotis stand near the float, one holding a long staff. A string-light arch frames the scene, and a colourful striped cloth hangs from the float's pole. A figure in orange robes on the float appears to be seated near the murti, but the appearance is too uncertain to identify.2015-01-13Night photograph of a festival procession at a decorated ratha or float lit by warm lamps.
