Dense crowd of devotees and police in a village road procession. A dark grey SUV with a red 'a person' banner on its windshield moves slowly through the crowd, with a figure seated in the rear. A large red, blue and yellow ceremonial umbrella is held aloft over the vehicle. Many men wear white shirts and white dhotis, and several wear red fez-style caps. Uniformed police in khaki stand among the crowd. Shops and trees line the street in the background.

Parasols with red, white and blue canopies are held aloft, and orange flags on poles are visible at left. Women in white and colourful saris stand at right holding brass plates with flowers and offerings, while uniformed police officers walk among the procession. Two men in saffron-orange robes walk near the vehicle, one with a shaved head. The scene looks like a ceremonial procession escorting a vehicle through a rural village, with a gate and haystacks in the background.2014-06-19June 19 20142014-06-19 +1 copiesA large crowd escorts a dark grey minivan along a village road in a procession. Many people wear white dhotis and white shirts, and several women in white saris carry brass and steel trays and pots of offerings with flower garlands. A man in a saffron-orange garment walks near the van, and a ceremonial umbrella with red and gold trim is raised above the vehicle. Uniformed police in khaki with red caps guide the path. Palm trees, a pond, a haystack and a small building with a wall stand behind the crowd. The scene shows a welcoming procession with a vehicle at its centre.2014-06-29 +1 copiesPhotograph of a dense street crowd surrounding a dark car on a tree-lined road, with many men in white shirts and dhotis and some women in saris pressing forward, many raising hands and arms. A red and multicoloured umbrella with tasselled fringe is held overhead, and orange-and-yellow ceremonial standards stand at the left edge. Several people hold cameras and phones. Shop awnings and signboards line the street behind the crowd, and a few onlookers watch from a roadside. The scene suggests a procession welcoming someone seated inside the vehicle, though that person is not clearly visible. Crowd count is large, well over one hundred visible people.2014-06-29 +1 copies
