December 23 20072007-12-23December 23 20072007-12-23Outdoor photograph of a flag-hoisting ceremony beneath coconut palms in bright daylight. A person in long flowing saffron-orange robes, with long dark hair swept back, grips a thick white rope that runs up a polished copper flagstaff decorated with bands and a carved shrine-like base wrapped in straw and garlanded with yellow and red flowers. A second young man in matching orange robes and a beaded necklace stands beside him. The scene reads as the start of a Brahmotsava procession.2008-12-23Outdoor temple ceremony at a copper-clad dhwajastambha (flagstaff) festooned with yellow and white flower garlands and a lower band of colourful flowers. A person in an orange-saffron robe and a long red-and-white flower garland pulls an orange cloth flag up on a rope, gazing upward. Behind the flagstaff stand a stone deity murti, a dark stone figure, palm trees and a few people in white with orange shawls watching. He wears a long garland of red and white flowers and a rudraksha mala, with dreadlocks or long matted hair wrapped in a turban-like style and a red tilak on his forehead. Beside him is an ornate carved temple structure or chariot-like base with white and red flower garlands and a palm frond-topped kalasha. Trees and palm fronds are in the background under a blue sky. This appears to be a flag-hoisting (dwajarohanam) ceremony, with the man as the visible figure pulling the rope; appearance-based probable Swamiji cues include long hair, saffron clothing, rudraksha mala and ceremonial garland.2016-01-11December 23 20072007-12-23March 11 20132013-03-11December 23 20082008-12-23
