In the foreground, a man standing waist-deep in grey-green water with his palms pressed together in prayer, bare-chested with a dark cloth around the waist. Beside him, an older man with grey hair and a white cloth draped over his shoulders stands in the water with hands folded. Behind them on the steps, a group of men stand watching, several bare-chested, some wearing white dhotis, one in a yellow shawl and a dark rudraksha-style mala, another in a green cloth. A man in a white shirt and a woman in a red and white sari stand near the top left. Ritual dip or sacred bathing at a temple tank or sea steps; a stone rock sits at lower left. Some faces are visible but no one is identified.
