A night photograph of a priest in saffron-orange robes performing aarti before a large stone Nandi bull statue. The priest, seen from behind and in side profile, holds a brass lamp with a bright flame raised toward the bull's head. The Nandi is draped with pink and red flower garlands and has a beaded necklace and decorated saddle cloth; its body is dusted with white powder. A yellow signboard with Tamil script stands behind, and the background is dark. No identifiable a person depiction is visible, so this is a priest rather than an identified person.2008-04-03November 21 20102010-11-21July 30 20082008-07-30 +1 copiesNight photograph of a large black stone Nandi bull statue garlanded with pink and orange flowers and orange cloth, with a tray of oil lamps burning on its base. A young man with a shaved head, bare-shouldered and wearing a saffron-orange dhoti, holds a small lit oil lamp or flame aloft over the statue's head while pouring or offering with his other hand. Rose petals and flower offerings lie on the base; dark green foliage and a blurred string of lights fill the background. This appears to be an aarti of Nandi, with the person's appearance not establishing identity, so no a person candidate is assessed.2017-11-15December 05 20142014-12-05February 25 20072007-02-25A man in saffron-orange robes holds a lit oil lamp beside a black stone Nandi bull statue heavily decorated with pink, red and white flowers and gold-toned bells. He wears a rudraksha-style mala necklace and a bracelet, with a tilak mark on his forehead, and his head is shaved. Behind him, gilded deity murti and ornate temple decor are visible. The scene suggests a puja at a Shiva shrine. Pradosha abhishekam appears in the page title, but only the lamp and floral Nandi are visible.2008-05-03A dark stone Nandi bull statue sits on a red pedestal at night, garlanded with pink and yellow flowers on its head, with lamps lit before it. In the left foreground a person with long dark hair and bare back wears an orange cloth and a rudraksha-style necklace, holding a brass lamp or offering vessel over the statue. Only the back of a person in orange is visible at the lower right edge, seated near the pedestal. Dense green foliage and blurred fairy lights fill the background.2017-11-15A photograph at night of a priest in orange-saffron robes with red borders pouring offerings from a brass plate onto a large black stone Nandi bull statue. Yellow-orange grains or sweets are heaped on the statue's head, horns and nose, and garlands are draped on its neck. The priest, wearing an orange dhoti and shawl with a red border, raises the plate with one arm while holding it with the other. The scene appears to be an abhishekam-style offering. A dark background and a corner of a red cloth are visible.2008-04-03 +1 copies
