Indoor evening ritual in a small room with pink and peach walls and barred windows. In the foreground a man in saffron dhoti and wrap holds up a lit multi-tiered aarti lamp of flames. Beside him a young man in white kurta and dhoti stands with palms joined. Center right, seated saffron-clad sannyasis and devotees sit around a body covered with a red and gold cloth, with brass offerings and a flower bowl before them. A photographer in white with saffron shawl stands near a tripod at the back right. Audience members in the lower foreground watch from behind. The scene suggests a final funeral rite for an enlightened soul.

A man in an orange-saffron dhoti stands at centre, holding a lit flame in his raised hand as an aarti. Nearby, a man in a white shirt and white dhoti sits cross-legged, and several people in white and red garments sit on the floor among brass plates, oil lamps, fruit, flower garlands and kalasha-style offerings. Other people stand at left in light shirts, watching. The scene appears to be an evening aarti or puja in a small ashram hall. No one is clearly identified as a person from appearance.2005-11-13
