Night-time photograph of a large dark granite Shiva lingam wrapped with a garland of yellow and red marigolds and green leaves. A bare-chested priest in white dhoti and a red-orange shawl sits on a raised metal platform beside it, holding a brass vessel over the lingam during abhishekam. White vibhuti marks show on his forehead and arm, and another priest in orange garments is partly visible at the left edge. The background is dark, with a light-coloured wall at the lower right.

Water runs down its surface. Above, on a metal railed platform, a priest in white ritual clothes with a white tripundra on his forehead and rudraksha beads around his neck holds a small vessel and pours during abhishekam, a Rudrabhishekam ritual. The priest has shoulder-length hair and no visible saffron or ornate a person cues, so he is described only by role.2014-08-11August 11 20142014-08-11A man in a maroon-red turban with a gold ornament and a bare upper body, wearing gold armlets and a gold necklace over a maroon-brown cloth, pours water from a brass vessel onto a large dark lingam at night. The lingam is draped with a garland of white, yellow and red flowers. Two other attendants stand on the metal platform behind him, one wearing a white headband, and a dark night sky fills the background. The scene is an outdoor abhishekam at a lingam.2016-12-08
