An elderly man with a shaved head, wrapped in a deep orange-red shawl and walking barefoot on a patterned red-and-cream rug, is being guided by a younger man in white dhoti and orange shawl. To the left stand several monks in orange robes, one with a long beard and one with a shaved head, and one holding a small orange book. On the right, a smiling young man with long dark hair, wearing an orange robe, stands barefoot with a red tilak. Behind them a large red, blue and green fringed ceremonial umbrella is raised, and a gold-edged embroidered banner hangs nearby. Several other attendants in white stand in the background. Seven people are visible in the scene.2008-02-10A procession on a dirt road in the evening, with a saffron-robed figure in an orange shawl and beaded necklaces walking at the centre, holding a long staff and a brass vessel. Around him, about a dozen people in white dhotis and white shirts carry leafy green kalasha-style pots and wear blue rosettes on their chests. Two men at the edges hold up ornate red and gold canopies with tassels, like parasols or palanquin canopies. Parked cars and a white building with a dark doorway stand in the background.2007-11-18December 20 20072007-12-20A photograph of a procession on a paved road in the evening, under trees. A central figure in a saffron-orange robe and orange head wrap, wearing a long gold-toned necklace, walks barefoot between two groups of people. Four ornate multicoloured umbrellas with fringed tassels are carried on long poles by men in white kurtas and white dhotis, some with blue rosette badges on their chests. A woman in a cream sari walks behind the central figure, and several men carry small woven baskets holding green coconut-like offerings. Parked silver cars line the roadside.2007-11-18March 24 20082008-03-24June 19 20082008-06-19April 24 20122012-04-24
