Night photo of an outdoor street gathering in front of a lit single-storey building with a corrugated roof and a sign with Tamil script. A group of about 30 people sits on mats on the ground at the lower left, many in white and pastel clothes, with one figure in orange robes seated in the middle. Several standing figures in white and light clothing stand in the dark street in the foreground. Bright white lamps light the building, and a street lamp and a neighbouring two-storey house with a balcony are visible at right.

Dozens of people sit cross-legged on mats and tarpaulin in a large circle around a small fire pit with a flame at the centre. Several men in white dhoti and shirt sit close to the fire, with a woman in an orange sari and others in saffron and white nearby. A woman in a green top stands at the left edge, and a figure in an orange robe stands near the centre-right. Strings of green leaves hang from the awning above. A lone figure with a white garment sits in the middle of the circle, and the crowd fills the foreground and background. The scene is dark apart from the lights and fire.2006-10-25A blurred night photograph of a street lit by a sodium streetlamp under a large tree, with orange glow and white-walled houses.
