Night photo of a red-stepped tiered platform lined with many small oil lamps glowing on the steps and beside rows of grey stone Shiva lingams on pedestals. Several people in white dhoti and white garments with orange-red cloth draped over shoulders move among the lingams, one man crouching low at lower left to tend a lamp, while others stand or walk on the upper steps. Strings of small lights stretch across the dark background above a metal railing. The scene shows lamp lighting at a temple for a Karthikai Deepam-style celebration.
