A crowded evening scene of devotees gathered outdoors near a building with pink-painted walls. In the foreground a woman in a red and gold silk sari with a red bindi and dark beaded necklace presses her palms together. Beside her an older woman in glasses and a pink patterned blouse holds a silver oil lamp with a lit flame, while a young man in an orange robe with a rudraksha mala and a white vibhuti mark on his forehead extends a hand toward the lamp. Several other devotees in white shirts and saris stand around, some with raised hands and tilak marks, and a small child is visible in the background. The gathering suggests an aarti or puja offering.2008-07-11August 06 20092009-08-06A photograph inside a hall with white walls and framed portraits along the upper wall. Several devotees stand with palms pressed together in prayer, some with eyes closed. A young man in front right wears an orange saffron robe, orange cloth, a rudraksha mala, a white forehead mark and a wristwatch, kneeling with folded hands. Beside him, a man in a white shirt and white dhoti, a woman in a gold-bordered sari with a mangalsutra, a bearded man in white, and a young boy in white clothes also pray. A blue-green object is partly visible at the left edge. The people wear white, sari colours and tilak marks, and the setting appears to be a devotional ritual.2008-07-11A photograph of a group of men in white dhotis and shirts standing with palms pressed together in namaste along the left side of an indoor hall. In the centre, a man with a bare chest and a rudraksha mala wears an orange-saffron dhoti and is receiving a greeting. Beside him, a priest with a shaved head and bare torso wears an orange cloth and white dhoti, holding a silver tray with offerings and lit items. Behind them, other saffron-clad sannyasis stand near a decorated shrine with a deity murti and flowers.2010-11-30July 16 20062006-07-16A photograph of a crowded indoor hall where a devotee in a saffron robe with a red cloth sits at a low table, seated in front of a brass lamp and offerings. Several devotees stand close together around him: a woman in a cream sari with gold border and a dark rudraksha mala, a woman in a red blouse and red shawl with a mala, a man in a white shirt holding a small white-wrapped bundle, and a man in a white shirt with a rudraksha mala. The saffron-robed figure has a white forehead marking and a rudraksha mala and seems to be applying something to the table. Behind them a larger group of men and women in white shirts and saris stands in a plain room with pink walls. The figure in saffron appears to be a sannyasi or priest rather than a clearly identifiable individual, so no identification is made.2008-07-11August 05 20092009-08-05September 24 20122012-09-24February 14 20072007-02-14June 26 20142014-06-26February 28 20092009-02-28July 28 20082008-07-28
