March 23 20062006-03-23March 23 20062006-03-23Outdoor procession on a brick path beside a temple complex with white colonnaded buildings and green lawns. In the centre, a figure in saffron-orange robes with a long wrapped turban in orange and pink, wearing a rudraksha mala, walks forward. Two priests in white dhotis with orange borders walk ahead; the left one carries a tray or offering, and the middle one has a bare chest and sacred thread. To the right, men in white and grey shirts and dark trousers walk along, and a man in a white shirt is prominent in the foreground. A small white canopy and a dark pillar stand at left. The photo is motion-blurred.2005-06-17March 23 20062006-03-23A photograph of a temple courtyard with grey granite carved pillars on the left and red-and-white painted walls behind. A man in a saffron-orange robe wears a long garland of yellow and red flowers and walks barefoot, his hand extended toward a red cloth hanging beside the stone structure. Beside him, a man in saffron-orange robe with a wristwatch smiles and walks. Behind them, a man in white shirt and white dhoti carries a tray of flowers, and other men in white and light clothing follow among green shrubs and trees. The candidate in the garland has distinctive saffron robes and a flower garland, but no strong combined cues such as long swept hair, crown or rudraksha, so identity is uncertain.2008-08-07Outdoor temple courtyard with a stone Nandi bull draped in marigold garlands on a raised plinth, a grey stone deity sculpture at left, and an orange-brick shrine behind. A long-haired man in a saffron-orange shawl and dark rudraksha mala walks barefoot across a mat, with long hair swept back and no crown or turban visible. Behind him, two men in white dhoti and shawls walk barefoot on a sand path past small fire pits, and at right a shaved-headed man in white dhoti with a sacred thread and a rod walks barefoot. Palm trees fill the background.2010-09-15July 29 20082008-07-29March 23 20062006-03-23March 23 20062006-03-23Photograph of a group walking along a concrete path between white temple buildings on a sunny day, with a gopuram tower in the background and a flowering tree on the right. Five or six people walk toward the camera: a man in a dark jacket and jeans on the left, a woman in an orange sari with a black shawl, a woman in a grey coat and black trousers, a man in a blue shirt, and a figure in a flowing orange-saffron robe with a beaded necklace who has one hand raised to the head. Other people follow behind. The setting appears to be a Hindu temple complex.2006-03-23Outdoor temple courtyard photograph. A figure in a saffron-orange robe with a long rudraksha mala walks across a sandy path, with long dark hair swept back; the robe and mala are visible but the appearance is not clearly distinctive enough to confirm identity, so the figure is described by role as a sannyasi. Beside him, a bald priest in white dhoti and shawl with red border walks carrying a staff, and another man in white sits on a mat at right. Behind them are orange-tiered platforms, a garlanded stone pedestal, grey stone deity statues including a multi-armed figure at upper left, and palm trees. A brass oil lamp rests on a mat with an orange cloth at left.2010-09-15July 29 20082008-07-29
