A photograph of a ceremonial initiation at a stage with a dark backdrop. A man with long dreadlocked hair and a white tilak on his forehead, wearing a white garment, rests his right hand on the head of an older, grey-haired man who bows forward. The older man wears an orange sleeveless top with rudraksha malas and a gold bangle, and holds a small silver-framed object near a metal tray. Behind them a woman in a magenta sari wears rudraksha beads, and silver lion-head carvings flank the seat. A silver ritual staff stands at right and a hand holds a white blade over a tray. Identity of the older man is not established from appearance alone.
