A photograph of a temple ritual inside a pillared hall with a red carpet. A bare-chested priest in a purple silk dhoti and gold-bordered shawl stands at the centre, waving a cloth or fan over a richly garlanded altar of white, yellow, red and purple flowers. Beside him a man in white dhoti and orange cloth kneels, a man in white holds a red-petalled plate, and other devotees stand behind. Decorative umbrellas in green and red, banana leaves and hanging cloth banners frame the scene, with a copper oil lamp on the floor and a steel tray with offerings at the lower left.
