A temple ritual scene at a Navaratri puja. Large colourful deity murtis of goddess forms with multiple arms, lion mount and weapons stand behind, adorned with gold and green embellishment. A seated man in orange-red robes and a white-and-yellow garland, with a bare arm raised, sits on an ornate silver throne with a tiger-striped cushion and a silver umbrella canopy. Several young girls in colourful dresses, garlanded with white flower necklaces, sit on silver chairs. Brass oil lamps, a square homa fire pit with flower offerings, flower heaps and colourful striped cloth on the floor complete the scene.

Large decorated murtis of a multi-armed goddess with a sword and trident, a lion mount, and an elephant-headed deity stand behind a bright gold and silver shrine. Several girls in colourful dresses sit on silver chairs holding brass trays of offerings and flowers. A standing man in a rust-red dhoti and sash, with a yellow garland, stands at the right near a silver-canopied seat. A brass lamp and a fire pit with flowers and kalasha-style vessels sit in the foreground, alongside trays of marigold petals. Another woman in a green sari and a seated priest-like figure are also visible near the altar. The murtis are described as deity murti; the standing man is a devotee or priest, and his appearance does not clearly establish an identity.2017-09-21 +1 copies
