A photograph of a large hall where many boys sit cross-legged on mats in a seated puja or chanting session. In the foreground a boy in white dhoti and shawl, with sacred ash marks on his arm and a rudraksha mala, sits with hands in a mudra and eyes closed as he chants. Beside him are brass lamps, a brass kalasha-style vessel and a covered plastic container with flower petals. Nearby boys wear red, orange and teal shirts, and others in white ritual cloth sit in rows behind them, some with ash marks on their foreheads. Windows and pale walls frame the room.2011-09-04October 24 20122012-10-24December 14 20112011-12-14June 19 20142014-06-19May 12 20122012-05-12September 16 20112011-09-16September 23 20112011-09-23January 15 20132013-01-15 +2 copiesA seated group meditation session indoors in a room with pink walls and a white wall socket panel. In the foreground, boys sit cross-legged on orange and patterned mats: one in a grey t-shirt with a red tilak on his forehead, one in a yellow t-shirt wearing a dark bead mala, and one in a red shirt with gold bangles. Behind them, several adults in white dhoti-style clothing with red-bordered cloths and rudraksha malas sit with eyes closed or gazing forward, some with shaved heads. Brass plates, a small brass lamp and yellow flowers sit on the floor before them, along with a pink tray and clear plastic containers. A saffron-robed figure sits at the left edge. No one is identifiable as a person by appearance cues, so the candidate is left unresolved.2011-02-20November 04 20112011-11-04A photograph of a large hall where many seated men and boys in white ritual dhotis and shawls with maroon borders perform a puja. In the foreground, a man in a white dhoti with a red-striped shawl and a tilak on his forehead holds a brass lamp, while others sit before brass plates of offerings, flowers and small oil lamps on mats. A shaved-headed man in white with a rudraksha mala sits at right. A man in orange robes sits at far left. Red curtains and framed pictures line the back wall, and many more seated and standing people fill the room.2011-09-25October 09 20112011-10-09
