A close photograph of a golden statue being anointed. A human hand with a gold-colored bangle and wrist band reaches up and spreads yellow turmeric or oil paste across the statue's face and forehead. The statue is a bare-chested devotional figure with long swept-back hair, its face and chest coated in glistening golden paste. A blurred blue and white cloth and a brass vessel appear in the background. No physical people are fully visible beyond the hand and wrist.
