Many people wear white ritual clothing: men in white dhotis and shirts, some in light blue shirts, and women in white saris, plus a few in pink, blue, orange and green saris. Several women wear orange shawls. Most stand with hands folded or arms crossed, facing toward the left edge of the frame where a light glows. Floodlight poles stand in the background. The gathering is large and fills the width of the frame.2006-12-20Night street scene of a crowd gathered in a roadway, many standing in lines. In the foreground, a bald man with white forehead markings wears white kurta and a rudraksha-style mala beside a man in white shirt, and a woman in a white sari with a red bindi stands near a woman in a red sari. Other devotees in white and saffron-toned clothing stand behind, some holding objects. Above the crowd, a lit portrait shows a figure in white head covering on a vehicle or display. Banana or palm leaves and an arch frame the background.2006-11-04Night photograph of an outdoor festival entrance on a dirt path, decorated with two tall green banana plant arches, strings of coloured lights and a striped festoon canopy overhead. A hanging banner on the left shows a saffron-robed figure with ornate ornaments among smaller portraits, and a second banner appears in the centre. Several people in white traditional clothing, some with saffron-orange and yellow shawls, stand in lines along the path and at the right. A woman in a white sari on the left stands facing the entrance. Bright floodlights illuminate the scene and marigold-style decorations line the left side.2010-12-29A night procession of many devotees in mostly white clothing walks along a sandy path beside a tall palm tree. A man at left raises a red-and-white oil lamp overhead in one hand, and a woman in a white sari with an orange shawl walks near him. A woman in an orange and red shawl and a woman in a pale pink top with a long necklace are prominent in the crowd. Some people wear badges on their clothing, and a striped umbrella and stacked pipes appear at right.2006-12-23
