In the foreground, a sannyasi in saffron-orange robes bows deeply with his head pressed forward, close to the seated figure. Brass oil lamps and a small brass pot sit on the floor, and a smaller decorated murti stands on a gold pedestal at right. Red curtains frame the shrine and sunlight falls across the stone pillars. The bowing figure has long tousled hair, and their saffron robe and distinctive visible cues are consistent with a person, but the seated figure's face is not visible, so the identity of that person is uncertain.2007-12-22December 30 20092009-12-30Photo of a ritual at a temple shrine decorated with marigold and multicolour flower garlands. Two gilded deity murtis stand behind, one wearing a red turban and layered gold necklaces, the other in red and gold dress with a tall crown. A golden bull, a gilded lamp and a small red-clad white statue sit at the base. In the foreground, a standing person in a long orange robe bends forward, one hand touching a silver-gold vessel, while a second person in a brown robe kneels at lower left, reaching toward a brass bowl. Brass pots and a kalasha are placed in front, consistent with abhishekam or puja. The person in orange has distinctive long, swept-back dark hair and orange robes, a person candidate, though the appearance is partly obscured by the bend and angle.2008-12-31December 27 20082008-12-27 +1 copiesA photograph of a temple ritual in an open pavilion. A man in a sleeveless saffron-orange garment with a white flower garland stands at left, holding up a tall brass aarti lamp with a lit flame toward a deity pair. Behind the lamp, a seated golden deity murti in a red garment and crown, with a garland of yellow, orange and purple flowers, is framed by a large floral arch. Brass oil lamps and a kalasha-like gold object sit on the altar in front. A second saffron-clad seated figure with a garland is at lower left, and a man in white stands at the far left edge. The scene reads as aarti during puja, with the people visible partly and the figures identifiable only by clothing and role.2009-12-30Temple puja in a gilded shrine with blue draped curtains and golden lamp stands. A figure in an orange-saffron robe with a draped orange garment bends forward, placing hands on a small white-and-orange seated figure lying on a white cloth draped over an altar. Behind is a golden deity murti pair with red and gold crowns, garlanded with yellow and red marigold flowers and red curtains. A white seated stone figure with raised hand sits in the foreground, and tall brass oil lamps stand at the sides. The scene appears to be a ritual bathing or abhishekam-style offering. The figure's identity is uncertain, so the role is described as a robed devotee.2010-01-02 +1 copies
