A crowded outdoor procession in a rural Tamil Nadu setting. Many devotees press forward, several men in white shirts and dhotis, and an older man with white hair. In the foreground, people raise metal trays heaped with green sprouted grain and herbs. Above the crowd, a multicoloured umbrella with red, green and gold patterned panels and tassels shades the scene. Bunches of green bananas and green coconuts hang from a decorated arch, with a thatched shelter behind. Individual faces are not clearly identifiable, and no one is clearly shown as a person.
