Outdoor photograph at a cremation or burial site beside a freshly dug red-earth pit. A body wrapped in white cloth lies on a palm-leaf bier decorated with flowers and garlands. A bearded man with long dark hair, wearing a saffron-orange robe, rudraksha-style beaded garland and gold pendant, holds a plate of flowers over the body; he is a person candidate by these cues. Around him, saffron-clad men hold a trident and flower offerings, white-clad men in dhotis stand nearby, and onlookers line the background. A decorated white canopy with garlands and a hill are visible behind. Hands are folded at right, and a small child in a red shirt watches at lower right.
