Outdoor groundbreaking ceremony on reddish-brown earth with green trees behind. A long-haired figure in saffron-orange robes and a multi-strand beaded garland stands at left holding a small metal oil lamp with a flame, leaning over a freshly dug pit where a young sapling in an orange pot is planted, surrounded by flower petals. Two shaven-headed young men in orange dhotis and shawls and beaded garlands stand behind and to the right, one holding a silver tray of offerings. Several men in white dhotis and a person in yellow watch from the background, along with a small orange flag and a white-and-red draped table at left. The scene reads as a tree-planting or ashram-inauguration rite.
