Annadhan in 20152015-01-01Photo 82864542015-01-01A photograph of a ceremonial padapuja-style ritual indoors. A seated figure on an ornate gold-and-red throne wears a red turban, a saffron-orange garment and a long gold-beaded necklace; he has white markings on his upper arm and holds a small object in his hands. A man in a white shirt and white trousers bends forward with joined hands before the seated figure, with a girl in white and red kneeling in the foreground. Brass vessels, metal cups, a small brass lamp and a kumkum-marked cloth sit on the floor near lit oil lamps, and other attendants in white with red shawls stand or kneel in the background. Red and patterned rugs cover the floor. The seated figure has distinctive ceremonial adornments and a throne, but the appearance is not clear enough to confirm an identity.2015-05-23Indoor ritual scene in a hall with a red-and-white striped canopy background and a metal-framed stage area. A seated figure on an ornate gold throne wears a rust-orange turban, orange-red robes and a large gold pendant necklace, with bare feet, and is receiving service from a woman in a rust-coloured sari who holds a microphone toward him. Bare-chested men in white dhotis with yellow and red sashes stand holding ritual items, and white-clad women kneel on a striped mat in front of them with palms pressed together. Behind them are rows of small white lit lamps, a deity murti decorated with garlands on the right, and brass puja vessels and plates in the foreground. Attendees are clustered on the mat.2015-09-17 +1 copiesSeptember 05 20152015-09-05A photograph of a seated ritual at a red-walled event tent. A man in an orange-red turban, orange-gold dhoti and a heavy gold necklace sits on an ornate gold-framed red throne, stirring or serving rice from a silver bowl with a ladle. In front, a woman in white with an orange-red shawl leans forward over the bowl, while a man in white with an orange shawl kneels at left. Behind them, three orange-draped altar tables hold framed portraits garlanded with marigolds, and a small table holds a banana-leaf offering. Wall posters and a photo collage fill the background.2015-10-23A photograph of a seated figure on an ornate gold throne with a deep red cushion, wearing a saffron-orange dhoti and matching shawl with a yellow border, a rudraksha-style mala around the neck, and a yellow mark on the forehead. He sits cross-legged with his hands extended, receiving or offering something from a white-clad woman kneeling at right in a white sari with a red shawl. A man in white dhoti with a red sash bends over a low table at center, while another man in white with a red-and-gold shawl stands behind. Trays hold green leaves, steel bowls and small offerings, and a brass plate of green leaves sits at lower left beside a small brass vessel. Two women in white saris stand in the background near a red sofa and a blue curtain. The scene suggests a ritual or puja setting.2015-12-20July 19 20152015-07-19 +1 copiesA seated figure on an ornate gold throne with carved lion-head armrests is receiving padapuja in a dark-walled room with hanging brass bells and oil lamps.
