Outdoor riverside or pond ritual scene with flower petals floating on dark water at right. A standing man in orange saffron robes with hands pressed together in prayer stands on a woven mat near the water's edge. Seated to the left, another person in orange robes sits on an orange cloth over a red patterned rug. Beside them a person in white clothing sits with a brass vessel. A multicoloured ceremonial parasol with fringed tassels is held overhead. Several onlookers in white and orange stand behind, some holding cups or bottles. The setting suggests a tharpanam water offering.
