A large outdoor crowd of many men, mostly in white shirts, dhotis and checked shirts, gathers densely in a dusty open field under bright sky and tall trees. Several colourful umbrellas with red, orange and blue panels shade a raised white-draped platform in the centre, where a few figures stand near offerings. Behind them a decorated stage with green and yellow drapery and a backdrop of printed portraits of many people stands beside a white cloth canopy. Yellow festoon strings and flags stretch overhead, and a row of uniformed police officers stands at the right edge of the crowd.
