A young man with long dark hair and bare chest, wearing an orange saffron dhoti and shawl, grips a tall wooden pestle and presses it into a stone mortar on the sandy ground. Around him, several onlookers stand: a man in a white kurta and dark-rimmed glasses with a black rudraksha-style necklace holds a metal plate, a bald man in a grey t-shirt and trousers watches, a woman with short red hair wears a white wrap, and another man in white stands in the background. An older bare-chested man with white moustache wears a white dhoti at right. Scattered white cloth scraps, leaves and a small bowl lie on the ground near shrubs and trees, with a few stones and a red plastic chair behind.2004-12-31April 01 20082008-04-01April 29 20182018-04-29August 01 20082008-08-01A photograph of an outdoor flag-hoisting ceremony at a tree-shaded ground with a sandy floor and a white rangoli design. In the foreground, a man with long swept-back dark hair, a ceremonial gold-and-white garland, and a saffron sleeveless robe holds a silver cage-like vessel, while a younger man in white dhoti and saffron shawl stands beside him. A row of people in saffron and white robes stands in the background, with a tall pole and saffron flags at the left and right. Several people press their palms together in prayer. The printed caption at the top corner reads Flag Hoisting by Swamiji, and a portrait-style label is not visible in the frame. Several cues on the foreground man (long swept hair, saffron robe, ceremonial garland) are distinctive, so he is described as a person with the role of the person performing the flag-hoisting.2006-12-23April 19 20082008-04-19Outdoor photo at a construction site beneath leafy trees. A long-haired man in an orange saffron wrap stoops over a concrete foundation, guiding a dark granite slab being lowered by a crane cable. Around him, several men stand watching: an older man in a white shirt and white dhoti wearing a red cord, a man in a grey-striped shirt, and men in white and khaki clothing; a woman in a yellow sari stands further back. Wet concrete and a white bucket lie in the foreground.2004-12-31
