Photograph of a ritual scene in front of a floral backdrop of yellow, red and orange marigold and rose garlands. A seated person in a rust-red robe and a long red-beaded garland, with a red tilak on the forehead and gold earrings, bows forward with hands joined. Facing them, a bare-chested priest with a sacred thread and a pink-and-gold turban sits close, applying a yellow substance from his hand. Yellow flower petals lie on the floor. The setting suggests a deeksha initiation ritual.
