A central figure in saffron-orange robes and a long red-and-white flower garland with gold ornaments raises his hand to a folded orange cloth tied to a cord, appearing to hoist or unfurl the saffron flag. A red bindi marks his forehead and long dark hair falls to his shoulders. Beside him a second figure in orange robes stands with hands at his waist. Around them devotees stand in white, one older woman in a teal sari presses her palms together, a girl in white folds her hands, and a man in a white t-shirt joins hands in greeting. A cameraman films from the right, and a tented table with a green cloth holds brass plates with yellow flowers. Ground has white and coloured rangoli designs.2010-01-19July 16 20062006-07-16August 17 20092009-08-17A photograph taken on a roadside street with a crowd of men and boys standing close around a central figure. A man in a saffron-orange sleeveless top and a long orange shawl, wearing a white and green flower garland and a red tilak on his forehead, holds a yellow rope tied to a white pole with his right hand while a silver tray of pink flower petals rests on his left arm. Crowd members wear white shirts, checked shirts and dhotis. Behind them a red and orange bus and a blue wall are visible, and a small white plinth stands at the lower left. The scene appears to be a flag-hoisting or pole-raising ceremony with petals offered before the pole. The central figure's appearance is consistent with a saffron-clad sannyasi, but the identification is uncertain from the image alone.December 25 20062006-12-25October 05 20142014-10-05August 03 20092009-08-03August 17 20092009-08-17
