A photograph of a tall white gopuram (temple tower) carved with tiers of sculpted figures, rising above trees against a pale blue sky with a brown hill behind it. Bamboo scaffolding wraps the tower and a platform on top holds several people in white and coloured clothing, including a figure in orange, around a small umbrella-shaped canopy and a kalasha-like structure. Two long vertical garlands of flowers hang down the front of the tower.

Scaffolding wraps the upper section, and a small group of people stands on a wooden platform at the summit beneath a red-and-white umbrella canopy, with saffron and white cloth visible among them and a red and white flag at the side. Yellow and red-and-white garlands hang down the tower face. Green trees frame the lower left. The people on the platform are small and distant; their clothing is partly visible but no individual can be confidently identified, so the appearance-based candidate is not established.2017-02-06A tall, white gopuram (temple tower) of the Arunachaleshwara temple rises against a pale blue sky, its tiers densely carved with figures and sculpted panels.
