A large banner behind the stage reads Akhila Karnataka Dhaarmika Santara Samaavesha beside portraits of a figure in an orange turban. A red carpet runs down the centre aisle between metal barriers toward the stage, flanked by rows of seated audience members, many in white and some in saffron. Video cameras on tripods film the stage, and a screen on the floor shows a red-and-gold image.
