Outdoor photo of a bhoomi puja ground ceremony on bare red earth beside thatched and block houses. A standing man in a saffron-orange robe with a bare upper body and long dark hair stands at left, with a long-haired figure in orange wrap clothing; a shaved-headed man in white kneels at centre, wearing an orange shawl, before a small granite-stone enclosure. Offerings sit on a white cloth: a brass tray of fruit, coconuts, marigold garlands, a green-striped kalasha pot, and tools such as a spade and hoe with flower garlands. A white-clad man stands behind, and a silver SUV is parked in the background with children and other people further away.

A bare-chested man in an orange cloth draped over his shoulders stands centre, hands raised in a gesture, with a line of children and an adult in a white shirt and orange shawl watching. Another man in a white dhoti and white shirt with an orange shawl stands nearby, and a bald man in white dhoti and orange shawl stands at right. A person in a red-and-checked shirt bends low in prostration on the ground, and a small girl in orange and yellow walks near the offering. The offering on a white cloth includes a basket of fruit, flower garlands, a brass lamp and a brass plate, set beside grey stone blocks marked for the foundation.2008-04-04April 04 20082008-04-04April 04 20082008-04-04April 04 20082008-04-04Outdoor bhoomi puja at a dusty construction site beside thatched and concrete-block structures. Four people stand with hands folded in namaskar: a woman in a yellow-and-cream patterned sari, a man in white shirt and brown trousers, and two figures in saffron wraps. The taller one in the middle wears a plain orange cloth. The bald man in white kurta and dhoti, with a saffron cloth, performs the ritual, holding a brass bell and a small vessel. Before them are granite foundation stones, a brass kalasha, marigold garlands, a fruit platter, coconuts and a white cloth with offerings. A child in a yellow shirt stands in the background. A long-haired figure in orange robes bends over the same spot, hands folded near a clay pot wrapped with flowers. Behind them a woman in a yellow-and-white sari stands with palms joined, and a man in a white shirt watches. Two granite slabs and a red-and-orange flower garland lie to the left.
